Dr. Elaine Shouse Waller
“From my childhood,” Elaine often says, “I found my identity and passion in the Psalm of David – where he decrees: ‘One thing have I desired of the Lord, and that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.’” Raised as a “P.K.” (Preacher’s Kid) in southern Indiana by a father and family with radical faith in God, along with all the dogma of the Pentecostal Holiness Movement, Dr. Elaine Shouse Waller learned the value of integrating her faith with the skills of advanced learning and is most proud of the Apostolic background and the wealth of godly experience it birthed in her life.
Dr. Elaine Shouse Waller currently resides in Virginia Beach, VA., where she and Jerome Waller, Jr. are the proud parents of one son, Jerome Waller III. She holds the esteemed position of Senior Pastor at Abundant Life Ministries. Prior to this, Dr. Waller had served at the national level for numerous Pentecostal/Apostolic organizations. During this time, she was instrumental in the establishment of three churches, and her national and international evangelistic ministry was widely acclaimed.
Elaine holds a B.S. degree from Indiana State University and an M.A. and Ph.D. degree from the University of Illinois. She has taught at Indiana University, Indiana State University, the University of Illinois, Norfolk State University, and the University of Puerto Rico. She is a certified consultant to hospitals and schools, focusing on various aspects of communication and human relations.
Her academic honors include Who’s Who in American Education, Outstanding Personalities of the South, and Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award-1985 from Regent University. Dr. Waller has served as Director of the Visiting Black Scholar Lecture Series at the University of Illinois and has worked nationally with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. She also served as Publishing Editor of T.I.P. (This Is Pentecost) Magazine, published by the PAW, Inc.
Dr. Waller is the Founder and President of VISION Productions, Inc.-Virginia Beach, VA. VISION Productions, Inc. is a professional Film and Theater Arts production company that seeks to provide “quality-redemptive art” for secular and Christian audiences. She is the Founder and President of He Brought Joy School of Ministry, and the C.E.O. of He Brought Joy Ministries Inc. He Brought Joy Ministries, Inc. is a non-denominational ministry that focuses on teaching and ministering to the needs of the body of Christ. He Brought Joy is an “equipping, developing, and training” ministry that trains leaders for Kingdom work. Dr. Waller is also the Founder and Senior Consultant for Transformed Community Outreach, Inc., a faith-based 501 (c)3 program that addresses urban minority community issues. In 2014, she established Jacob’s Ladder, a high school Mentorship program that partners with the Virginia Beach Public Schools.
Elaine’s unwavering convictions and commitment to influencing transformation and kingdom-building principles within the Body of Christ have propelled her to become a highly sought-after ecumenical speaker. In her own words, she “aspires to be like the children of Issachar, who had an understanding of the times and godly knowledge of what the people of God should do.” Her faith is not just a personal belief, but a driving force behind her work and her desire to make a difference in the world.
