REFLECTIONS: Power, Courage, + Plus Confidence = Equals Excellence
I am a relentlessly positive person, who doesn’t complain or judge another individual, without having walked in their shoes--because not every shoe size fits all, but human compassion is paramount in all cases. Love conquers all. The memories that I have shared in this book will be treasured for a lifetime. While writing this book took me back in times and places with people who I loved and revered with high esteem.
I chose the Title: “POWER, COURAGE, + PLUS, CONFIDENCE = EQUALS EXCELLENCE”. These three components are essential to our spiritual, social and mental approach to life. My daily mantra is: “ALL THAT I AM IN, I WILL WIN “; Whatever I believe, I will receive--my belief will determine my portion. “Now Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen”: Hebrews 11:1. This book is composed of people who have impacted my life, while on my journey. It Is also coupled with over two hundred Inspirational Devotionals that I have written to Inspire and encourage you. There are memories of my days at Hillside High School, North Carolina Central University; the Legendary Coach Russel Blount; Days working on the farm with my Grandparents, the McDougald Terrace experience. I have posted photos to reflect and remind us of who and what we used to do during our days of youth. Since we can’t turn back the hands of time, we will have to relish these moments of flashbacks in the days of glory. Life is a School, and all of your situations and the people you meet are your teachers and principals. Your Course Work is Graduate Upper-Level Studies.
As you move through life, try not to repeat your courses because the lessons are too expensive to pay for a retake. So, pay close attention to the subject matter that is most important. Most people are who they are because that is who they want to be, and sometimes you can’t change that. Make peace with your story, no matter how it has been lived. You can’t take back that which you have already given away; however, you can do a better Job of managing what you have left. In assessing my journey, I have counted it all Joy, because every trial and tribulation that I have experienced have made me a stronger and better person-- with wisdom and knowledge. So, in retrospect, what was passed on to me, and I am passing it on to you.
Be wise, when handling your gift; and please share it with others because It is too valuable to keep it to yourself. Discretion is the better part of Valor. Make good decisions based on reliable information-- facts do change, and opinions will travel, but the truth remains the same, and will make you free. Enjoy your journey, while engaging in this Book. The work was grueling and challenging at times, but I thoroughly enjoyed the grind.
